The role of artificial intelligence in ensuring cyber security in the concept of smart cities of Ukraine

Objectives: To explore opportunities and challenges regarding the role of artificial intelligence in ensuring cyber security in the concept of Smart Cities of Ukraine with the aim of their further improvement. The tasks of the research relate to the definition and essence of artificial intelligence as an element of cyber security of Smart Cities of Ukraine for the purpose of automating threats; description of the main Ukrainian cities regarding the development of Smart technologies, such as: Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Kharkiv and others; systematization of the main directions of Smart Cities in Ukraine. The development of artificial intelligence in cyber security is important for Ukraine to strengthen security measures to protect against various cyber threats and improve the support of Ukraine’s Smart Cities both during the war and during the recovery of the country. Prior work: The research is focused the study on the concept of Smart Cities in the context of the role of artificial intelligence in ensuring cyber security in Ukraine; research by Ukrainian and foreign scientists on the concept of Smart Cities and the application of foreign experience in providing effective artificial intelligence algorithms in ensuring cyber security for Ukraine. Approach: To collect practical evidence, such approaches as observations on the artificial intelligence in ensuring cyber security for the concept of Smart Cities are used to collect practical evidence. For the evidence of the research, a comparative approach is used regarding such areas of Smart Cities in Ukraine as e-democracy and e-governance to collect and analyze qualitative data based on case studies.  Results: An analysis and generalization of the role of artificial intelligence in ensuring cyber security in the concept of Smart Cities of Ukraine, comparing the best practices of e-democracy and e-governance abroad with their introduction in Ukraine and the application of foreign experience in Ukrainian realities. Implications: The study has practical and theoretical significance regarding the role of artificial intelligence in ensuring cyber security in the concept of Smart Cities of Ukraine for academics, researchers and practitioners. Value: It consists in the original experience of the development of artificial intelligence in ensuring cyber security in the concept of Smart Cities of Ukraine before the war and during the legal regime of martial law.
